Roles and Responsibilities:
- The role of Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting the infrastructure and customer carrier IPsec VPN tunnels.
- Investigate and diagnose Incidents, attempt to resolve them, or escalate/refer them to someone who can, based on defined metrics and agreed service levels.
- Log and update the Incident investigation and diagnosis.
- Network engineers should have an in-depth knowledge of the architecture required to implement. Hands-on Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet, and Aruba network support, administration, monitoring, and tuning are required.
- Participation in all ongoing Network infrastructure initiatives including Firmware/IOS upgrades, Hardware Technology Refreshes, Security hardening, and Enterprise Monitoring process improvements.
- Create and maintain detailed date technical documentation (e.g., standards, process, Run Books) ➢ Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as Solar winds, Network Physics, Sniffer, MRTG, and Cisco Works.
- Intermediate level TCP/ IP packet analysis, using Wireshark or raw packet assembles using TCP dump.
- Should be willing to work 24/7 shifts ➢
- Good communication skills.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining network routing, switching, and firewall infrastructure.
- Should have a good understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP Model, ICPM, TCP, UDP, ping, and traceroute. Installing, Configuring, and administration of Cisco, Juniper routers and Switches (mid and high end), Cisco ASA, Juniper Net screen, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewall.
- Strong understanding and extensive experience with Network protocols /services/technologies like DS3, T1, OSI, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, ATM, Frame-Relay, IP Sec, NAT, and MPLS.
- Routing and switching technologies, 802.1q, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN, MPLS, VRF, VSS. Firewall management, preferably with Palo Alto Firewalls (DNS Security, PAN-DB URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, Global Protect, Panorama Integration, and Wildfire).
- Configuring and Troubleshooting knowledge of data center switches (Cisco 6500, 4500, 3750, 3560, 3800, 9200, ISR 4400, vEdge 1000, etc.)
- Good Knowledge of IPsec site-to-site & Remote VPN and Should be able to configure and troubleshoot as needed.
- Good knowledge of wireless infra and should be able to troubleshoot the wireless issue as required.
- CCNA, CCNP certification, ACE, and NSPSE is preferred.
- Knowledge/Hands on experience in SD-WAN preferred.
