Job Title: Senior QA Engineer – Test Automation & Manual Testing (Playwright)

Summary

  • Senior-level QA role with a balanced focus on test automation (Playwright) and manual testing, designed to ensure comprehensive quality coverage across complex application ecosystems
  • Plays a critical role in driving QA ROI by improving test coverage, reducing release cycle time, and minimizing production defect leakage
  • Serves as a key contributor across STLC phases — from test design and execution to defect management and reporting
  • Collaborates closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to align quality assurance practices with delivery timelines and business objectives
  • Leverages AI-powered tools and modern testing frameworks to enhance team productivity, accelerate test generation, and improve debugging efficiency

Roles & Responsibilities

Test Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Build and maintain a scalable automation framework covering functional and regression test scenarios
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps) to support continuous testing workflows
  • Utilize AI-driven testing capabilities such as self-healing scripts and smart locators to improve automation resilience

Manual & Exploratory Testing

  • Execute structured manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing across application modules
  • Apply strong test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables) to ensure thorough scenario coverage
  • Rapidly understand application ecosystems, user workflows, and business logic to derive meaningful test coverage

API & Performance Testing

  • Conduct API testing using Postman or REST-based tools to validate back-end service behavior and data integrity
  • Perform basic performance validation using Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals to assess front-end performance benchmarks

AI-Augmented Testing

  • Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) for test case generation, script optimization, and debugging acceleration
  • Adopt an AI-first mindset to continuously identify opportunities for intelligent quality improvements across the testing lifecycle

Defect Management & Collaboration

  • Log, track, and manage defects using Jira/Xray or Azure Boards with clear, actionable defect documentation
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and scrum teams to facilitate timely defect resolution and test sign-offs
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies including planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure QA is embedded within Agile delivery

QA Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report QA KPIs — including test coverage, defect leakage rate, and cycle time reduction
  • Proactively drive QA ROI through smarter test strategies, reusable assets, and process optimization
  • Champion quality best practices and contribute to the evolution of the QA function
