The Industry Conclave 2025 (jointly organized by ICT Academy and Shrimati Indira Gandhi College (SIGC)) on 13th September 2025 at Tiruchi, India, was a confluence of industry and academic experts.
With the theme “Campus Catalyst 2025: Where Visionaries Meet Future Leaders,” the conclave brought together top leaders from technology, innovation, and academia to inspire the next generation of professionals.
Bringing Ideas, Insights and Inspiration
Ms. S. Padmapriya, Training and Placement Officer at SIGC gave the welcome speech. Mr. Chandrasekharan M.S., Chief Executive Officer of the college, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The Member Secretary of The Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TANSCST), Prof. Dr. S. Vincent, was the guest of honor and he urged students to adopt a pragmatic approach in solving real-time client problems. Other distinguished speakers included Mr. Sivaneswaran Shiva Nandy, CEO of Skyesports and Treasurer of the Confederation of Indian Industry; Mr. B.C. Jainaresh, Director, Cavin Infotech; Mr. G. Saravanan, Head – Academic Operations, ICT Academy; and Mr. V. Poornaprakash, State Head – Tamil Nadu, ICT Academy.
The hall was packed with vibrant faces and most of them were budding women leaders of the future. Representing Movate, I addressed young, ambitious women by connecting real-world experiences with actionable career wisdom.
Here’s a recap of the insights I shared with them.
Straight from the Heart: Musings of a seasoned leader
I shared my career journey, one that was marked by inquisitive learning and recounted life-lessons in investing time and efforts to set the foundation for a successful career. By sharing candidly about the challenges faced and lessons learned, I advised students that success is never accidental but is earned through consistency and a clear purpose.
I wanted to impress deeply upon young women who aspire to carve out their niche in the corporate world.
Making a Mark: A journey, not an ideal destination!
Drawing parallels from my previous tenures and now at Movate, I shared how adaptability, curiosity, and collaboration have led the way to professional milestones. I advised students to focus on progress by celebrating small wins along the way, rather than perfection.
“A career is like a landscape that needs to be explored for new terrains with persistence plus ambition.”
The Essentials for a Rewarding and Fulfilling Career
During my keynote, I spoke about how digital proficiency alone won’t suffice in an evolving AI era. The importance of blending tech skills with human traits such as communication, empathy, teamwork, and emotional intelligence is vital.
I could not stress enough the significance of digital literacy, technological agility, and emotional resilience for the AI era.
Gen Z amidst an evolving career landscape
I addressed Gen Z women about the navigating today’s modern/digital workplace and stated that they have an opportunity to build on the learnings gleaned by their predecessor. As new career avenues open up across tech and other fields, upskilling and adapting for tomorrow is a ‘constant’. “Women should own their careers and make their mark in the industry by developing their leadership traits.”
Gen Z professionals stand on the shoulders of trailblazers who have gone before them, and it’s this generation’s turn to reach even higher.
Mentorship and Allyship: Inspiration from Closely-knit communities
I concluded that mentorship and allyship are ‘essentials’ of professional success and urged students to actively seek mentors who challenge and uplift them, while also being allies to others. Through a mindset of mutual growth among women peers, professionals can redefine workplaces that are inclusive and innovative.
“Lift others as you rise,” is a sentiment I personally embrace and exemplifies Movate’s values of collaboration and shared success.
These ‘straight-from-the-heart’ anecdotes left an enduring impression on aspiring professionals. The event recognized meritorious students for their achievements, culminating with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mrs. R. Leema Sundari, Placement Coordinator.
I thank Movate, ICT Academy and the college for the opportunity to share about Movate’s commitment to empowering students, especially women, to step confidently into the future—driven by purpose, skill, and an unwavering belief in their potential.
The Industry Conclave 2025 underscored the shared mission of ICT Academy, SIGC, and partners like Movate to nurture employability, innovation, and leadership among young graduates. Through such collaborations, Movate continues to play an active role in mentoring future talent and strengthening industry-academia partnerships.
